Ignition Explained: Reporting Module - Video overview

The Ignition Reporting Module

You need the Reporting Module if you want to create reports in the form of a document that can be retrieved—like a batch report, downtime report, or any sort of report you might have had in an Excel document. Simply put, the Reporting Module allows you to create these reports. It allows you to design and develop reports and then pull in the data—historical, queries, trends, pictures, and more. It also allows you to generate reports based on a schedule or on events.

It can also be set up with the WebDev module so that reports can be accessed via a URL. You can save the reports as PDF files or image files so they can be easily distributed. Other types of reports you may need to create include basic production reports, trend reports, tag history reports, batch reporting, calibration reports, along with SPC or OEE downtime tracking on a schedule. FDA and EPA forms can be replicated or pulled into the reporting module and populated with data with the reporting module—and it can be scheduled on a regular basis.

Is the Reporting Module Easy To Use?

Like everything, it takes a while to learn the “ins and outs” of Reporting. Some things are super intuitive, others are less so. Everything is subjective.

Printing and Automating

If you're creating reports, you're going to want to print reports. Some people love paper. Paper, PDF, Image files, there are many different options. If you want to print the same report, at the same time of day/week/month, you can schedule that within the Ignition. Likewise you can also schedule reports to go out via email.

Stay In Compliance

If you have documentation to fill out with the EPA, FDA, IRS, or other agency, all of that can be automated. How are you using the reporting module? Or, do you need help getting reports set up for your facility? Contact us to learn more!
