OEE Made Easy - Availability
Corso Systems explains the Availability component of OEE and how to start tracking downtime reason codes and equipment states. We start small and move into complex strategies to leverage your PLCs, SCADA, and MES systems to automatically generate data to help drive your OEE Implementation.
Ignition Perspective Signature Component
Corso Systems dives into the new signature pad component in Ignition's Perspective module, including how you can use it with the authentication challenge functionality released in Inductive Automation Ignition 8.1.16 to require signatures along with user authentication actions in your application.
OEE Made Easy
Corso Systems has helped many companies implement successful OEE solutions. Leveraging existing SCADA and PLC infrastructure obtaining the data is easy. Calculating the OEE and implementing data analysis tools is a little more complex. The culture shift to see a great ROI is the hard part, and Corso Systems is here to help make that as easy as possible!
Ignition on Rails: Corso’s Amtrak Journey
Corso Systems built a fun and unique map-based SCADA project with groov Epic controllers from Opto22, MQTT Modules from Cirrus Link, and Inductive Automation's Ignition Perspective. Two of our engineers tracked their cross-country Amtrak journey including pictures and video.
ICCX Build-a-Thon Challenge 1
On 6/14/22 Corso Systems participated in the Build-a-Thon Challenge for the Ignition Community Conference in September. We came in 5th place in this challenge and made it through to the next round. We break down the 11 challenges in total and give some hints about what is to come!
Ignition for FactoryTalk View Developers
Corso Systems has worked extensively with Inductive Automation's Ignition platform, and Rockwell's FactoryTalk View SE. If you are familiar with FactoryTalk View, this post will describe how to leverage your experience as you dive into the world of Ignition.
The First Five Decisions You Need to Make When Choosing a SCADA Platform
Corso Systems has helped hundreds of companies select SCADA platforms over the years. Here you will find the most important questions you should be asking when considering a new SCADA solution to help narrow down your choices.
What Should Conferences Look Like in 2022?
Corso Systems has had a lot of growth since ICC 2021, and we thought it was time to see how conferences could be better in 2022, especially ICC and the Build-A-Thon.
Automation Direct Modbus Addressing in Ignition
Corso Systems needed to map a value coming from an Automation Direct PLC via Modbus TCP into a scaled integer value in an Ignition SCADA system. Automation Direct uses a non-standard format for their data compared to most Modbus TCP implementations. To accomplish this we used a bitmask, a tag change script, and a UDT in Ignition to get the job done.
Integrating Mitutoyo Calipers with Ignition
Mitutoyo calipers are an integral tool to many QA/QC departments, and are commonly used in SPC applications to track measurements across the lifecycle of parts. In this post we show you how to integrate these calipers with an Ignition installation.
Ignition Edge Remote Tag Provider
Here’s how Corso Systems uses Ignition Edge as a remote tag provider to get data into a full blown Ignition gateway. It is the first step to a truly fault resistant system architecture. We show you how to set it up.
Ignition's Tag History Splitter
Corso Systems shows you how to get the most performance out of Ignition's built-in process historian. On top of the basic functionality you can use the Tag History Splitter to store data to make recent data and long term data easily accessible for different use cases.
