SCADA Forge - Ignition Training for Everyone
Let’s face the facts.
Manufacturing training classes are NOT designed for EVERYONE.
You sit down in a room with a bunch of people who probably have many decades of experience between them.
The instructor gives you a book or tells you to open a PDF and you are presented with up to 5 days worth of step-by-step tutorials.
No one ever explains WHY you are doing each of these steps, they simply assume you know why, you paid for the seat after all, didn’t you?
What if you’re new to Automation?
The person next to you who has already done this before and is simply learning a new SCADA platform may not care about the WHY behind what they are learning. They understand it from many projects and are simply learning HOW to solve problems with Ignition.
Tags? Templates? Scripting? Modules? Your head is spinning before you even finish the first lesson.
SCADA Forge adds the WHY to every step our training course. Ignition is for everyone, and we want everyone to have a fair shot at learning how to use it to solve problems.
Been in Automation a while?
We teach you everything you need to know about developing projects in Ignition. You can skip over the intro material and not miss anything if you already know all of the jargon, have developed in other SCADA platforms, or have many years of experience under your belt.
What is SCADA Forge Ignition Training?
SCADA Forge is an Ignition Training Course.
It takes everyone from the basics of automation, all the way through some of the most challenging problems people have solved with Ignition.
SCADA Forge is divided up into a few tiers:
Maker
Automation 101 - Everything you need to know about manufacturing if you have no previous automation experience. Ties real-world examples most everyone is familiar with to automation concepts so you can make heads and tails of the jargon, acronyms, and understand all of the building blocks of this amazing industry.
Ignition 101 - Learn everything you need to know about what Ignition is, why it matters to the manufacturing industry, and how you can use it to solve any technological problem you may be interested in solving.
Ignition 102 - Find out how to develop in the Ignition Vision Module. Walks through what components, tags, Vision Windows are, how to get your bearings with Vision development, and gives you the foundation for everything after.
Ignition 103 - Want a modern SCADA solution? Learn all about how to develop in the Ignition Perspective Module. Tags, Perspective Views, bindings, scripting, transforms, and how to build complex Perspective interfaces even if you are opening Ignition for the first time.
Ignition 104 - Curious about the new Ignition Launchpad projects for OEE and KPI’s? This gives you a head start on how to get everything set up, how the projects are structured, and the best part, how to extend them to add value to your Ignition installation and/or for your customers.
Associate’s
Ignition 201 - The Ignition Design Challenge is arguably the best way to learn Ignition development. This course takes you through the entire process from defining the problems it asks you to solve, mocking up an entire project before writing a line of code, then how to solve each of the prompts.
This course sets you up for success to obtain your Ignition Core Certification, covering both Vision and Perspective development.
Bachelor’s
Ignition 301 - This section is focused on Gold Certification level concepts including:
Scripting
Database interaction
Alarm notification
Templates
User Defined Types (UDTs)
Project Inheritance
How to structure your projects to get the most value out of Ignition
Much more
This course sets you up for success to obtain your Ignition Gold Certification, covering both Vision and Perspective development.
Ignition 302 - Similar to Ignition 201 focused on the Ignition Design Challenge, Ignition 302 covers the Gold Certification Study guide prompts with a full development run through showing you how to complete everything in the study guide.
This track is geared towards setting you up for success as a senior engineer.

Why SCADA Forge?
Corso Systems has worked with the Ignition platform from Inductive Automation since 2009. Our earliest Gold certification was obtained in 2012, and we have been a Premier Integrator since 2018.
We have trained not only on own staff on how to become amazing Ignition developers, we have also trained dozens of people from other integration firms who have gone on to become Premier Integrators as well hundreds of people who work for our customers on how to manage and support their Ignition systems themselves.
The SCADA Forge system takes everything we have learned about Ignition over the last 17 years, compiles it in an easy to follow and understand format, and gives you everything you need to take your Ignition skills to any level you wish.
The first section of the course covers the basics of industrial automation opening the door for people new to the field by removing jargon, using real-world examples from daily life to explain industrial automation concepts, and lowers the barrier to entry to this industry as low as possible.
From there we cover everything you need to know about Ignition Development starting with the platform itself, when and why you would want to use certain modules, and the basics of the various components in the Vision and Perspective Modules.
From there we run through the free Ignition Design Challenge showing you a variety of ways to accomplish the prompts in the challenge.
We then move into the Gold Certification Prep course from Inductive Automation’s website giving you everything you need to know to develop at a Gold Certified Level.
Finally we dive deeper into more complex topics in the Ignition world like MQTT, Forms in Perspective, Scalable System Design, advanced security concepts, and integrations with systems manufacturing companies use to run their operations like ERP systems.

SCADA Forge gives you all of the material you would find in the official training classes, doesn't require you to devote multiple days in a row to training while allowing you to complete lessons at your own pace, and is designed to show you real-world applications of the Ignition platform based on over 15 years of Ignition experience from a Premier Ignition Integrator. All of this at a fraction of the cost and time required to take all of the official classes.
Is there a SCADA Forge Community?
Yes, we have a Discord server set up with channels for every tier to ask questions, make suggestions, and work alongside everyone else taking part in the SCADA Forge Ignition Training platform! Invite Link: https://discord.gg/ahXgrwSz39
Does SCADA Forge give me a Core or Gold Certification with Ignition?
Currently we do not offer an official Core or Gold Certification, you will still need to sign up for those tests with Inductive Automation and go through the official process. If there is interest in a SCADA Forge certification we can work through those details as needed, but don’t currently have a certification process in place.
The official training classes have options for free tests and/or certifications potentially included if you would like to go that route, although the cost to get certified using SCADA Forge as your training program is cheaper than signing up for the official training classes and SCADA Forge teaches you everything you need to know for the certification tests.
Can I get a refund if I’m not happy with the course?
If for any reason you aren’t happy with your purchase you can request a refund within 14 days of signing up and receive a refund minus a 3% processing fee to cover credit card processing fees.
